On Monday 18th July the whole school gathered along with former teachers, pupils and family members of our well-loved former dinner lady, Mrs Christine Hawkins. Mrs Hawkin's family presented a new, beautifully-carved, wooden bench to the school in her memory after she passed away earlier in the year.
Mrs Hawkins had worked at our school for over twenty years as a dinner lady, volunteering in the classes and helping out when needed. She was much beloved by everyone who knew her. The photos show the new bench, Mrs Douglass former teacher at the school who spoke about her many kindnesses and talents and then the whole school celebrating in the only way possible by singing and dancing the Hokey Cokey which Mrs Hawkins used to love doing with the children at playtime.
